Endings
My first quarter of teaching in Lincoln is winding down and I give my final exam on Thursday. Friday will find Clara and I traveling to Davenport to see Brian and we'll get to be there for the first open house on Sunday. We're hoping for a solid offer very soon. When we planned on Brian staying to finish the house, we did not anticipate that it would take this long. But, in hindsight, everything about remodeling the house has taken longer than we thought. I'm looking forward to seeing the end results...on the webcam the bathroom looks beautiful.
This time last week Brian was about to arrive in Lincoln with another load of stuff and to see his parents, grandmas, and sister. And, we got to meet Michelle's fiance, Guy. Clara loved seeing Auntie Michelle and Guy and was sad when they had to go back to California. Clara loved seeing Daddy, too. Daddy let her stay home with him instead of going to daycare and took her to the park. She also went to the grocery store with Daddy and now she tells me she wants to go shopping with just Daddy. That sounds ok with me, I'll be happy to spend some time by myself once Brian's here.
And, once Brian's here, there will be two sets of eyes to keep track of Clara. Last night she was sitting at the table with a bowl of cereal. She was still hungry when it was almost bedtime. I was picking stuff up and went to use the bathroom. When I returned she had dumped most of the cereal on the table and was using her toy Weevil turtle to crunch the cereal. When asked what she was doing, she said, "I don't know." "I don't know" usually means she's doing something she knows she shouldn't be. Still, I had to laugh at using the turtle to crunch the cereal. Life is rarely dull with a talkative and inquisitive two-year old around.

Clara's such a little charmer! I would love to see more pictures of her--and of the finished house!
She is too cute. We look forward to seeing you two this weekend! :) Hugs from all of us to you two in Lincoln.
